National Bullying Prevention Month 2015

Everyone has had some experience being bullied, and sadly many know what it’s like to be bullied on a daily basis and how painful and devastating the experience can be. Still, in the United States children and teens face being bullied every single day. It is a sad and disappointing truth, but we can do something about it.

National Bullying Prevention Month is a campaign that was started by the PACER’s National Bullying Prevention Center in 2006 and has considerably grown in participation every year since. Thanks to this incredible movement, what was once mistaken for a part of normal life for children, or “a rite of passage”, is now finally getting the proper exposure as the dangerous behavioral issue that it really is.

The bullying of children and teens can lead to school avoidance, loss of self-esteem, increased anxiety, and depression, all of which can have extremely harmful effects on their ability to lead a happy and healthy life. It is PACER’s goal, along with their partners, to spread awareness and advocate for change so that no more kids or teens have to become the unfortunate victims of bullying.

Outreach, and counseling for kids coping with bullying is available all year long, but during National Bullying Prevention Month, education and awareness is intensified. The issue is addressed through various social media channels as well as at a community level. Schools and organization host events that are meant to spread the word about the problem of bullying and provide resources and information about what we can all do to help. This is where Bullying prevention educational products play a major role. We can make meaningful connections and engage with as many people as possible about bullying, but these informative giveaways can help our message go the extra mile and reach more eyes and ears than just word of mouth.

At Foremost Promotions we stand behind the bullying prevention movement wholeheartedly. We are parents, sisters and brothers to those who have experienced bullying, or we have faced it as children ourselves – and we know we are not alone. We believe that because of our ability to empathize with this issue, either through experience or observation, it is all of our jobs to work together to help eradicate bullying in every school, home or public setting.

Every single person or group can do their part to help make a positive change, whether it is offering some nice words to a fellow student, standing up for a friend in need, or helping to educate the public in order to bring about a positive change.

You can get involved and do your part by sharing your own positive, anti-bullying message on social media, attending a local bullying prevention month event, handing out your own bullying prevention promotional materials or by participating in any of the nationwide bullying prevention month activities below:
